Star of The Real Housewives of Dallas, LeeAnn Locken apologizes for racially insensitive remarks against co-star. LeeAnn always has said what she felt, letting her anger take over but she may have gone too far this time, leaving fans to call for her removal.
Fans have watched as Locken first joined reality TV on Big Rich Texas where she was a sidekick to the president of the Fashionistas which was a social circle within Dallas. Now, she has moved on up to the role of the leading lady with The Real Housewives of Dallas, but her outspoken personality is wearing her co-stars and fans thin. The newly married Locken has always been very open about her past which consisted of growing up working at a carnival and suffering from sexual molestation at a young age. But more often than not her questionable decisions get her into trouble.
On the most recent episodes Locken had allowed her temper to get the better of her and as she spewed foam for her mouth, she also said some pretty disgusting words about co-star Kary Brittingham. On several episodes of the Bravo franchise, Locken was caught by cameras making fun of Brittingham’s accent and Mexican heritage as she spoke to her friend, Kameron Westcott. According to Us Weekly, the reality star decided to apologize for her actions via social media on December 11th, saying, "I am deeply sorry to those that I have hurt or offended with some of my comments on Real Housewives of Dallas season 4." She continued, "It was never my intention to hurt anyone and I will use this as a learning experience to be more aware of my comments in the future. My commitment moving forward is to continue my work fighting for equality and acceptance of all humans."
The ex-carnie originally made her racist statements back in a November episode while she yelled at Stephanie Hollman saying she thought Kary was "all Mexican and strong and powerful." Hollman quickly told the cameras that she thought what Locken said was disgusting. Most recently while in Thailand the Dallas socialite called Brittingham a "chirpy Mexican" which did not sit well with viewers. In Bravo’s promotional video for next week’s episode of season 4, fans will see the producers ask all the women if they believe Locken may be a racist. Hollman who was usually a sounding board for the group replied that she just thinks that Locken says some very dumb stuff. Meanwhile, Brandi Redmond commented that she felt very uncomfortable answering the question, saying she does not believe that the brunette is ignorant so the other option would be she must be a racist.
Locken was not the only lady who came under fire as fans accused Westcott of not standing up for Brittingham. Fans have watched Westcott be complicit when it comes to the wrongdoings of Locken and act as if she was afraid to stand against her. Westcott took to her social media saying that on next week's episode she was the only one to address the situation. At the end of the day, fans are tired of seeing Locken make every episode about her and Westcott tag along for the ride. The episodes of becoming emotionally draining when it comes to screen time with Locken and many viewers would like to see more of Hollman and Redmond's shenanigans as they seem to have the best time filming the show.
The Real Housewives of Dallas airs Wednesdays at 9pm EST on Bravo.
