In an interview for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, actor Adam Driver forgets the name of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In the sequel trilogy, Adam Driver stars as Kylo Ren, the son of Han Solo and General Leia Organa, who has been seduced to the dark side of the Force and lands as one of its most rebellious and violent leaders. In a shocking twist in The Last Jedi, we see Ren single-handedly take out the First Order Supreme Leader Snoke and claim the throne for himself.
Driver has had a very exciting few weeks, gearing up for the release of The Rise of Skywalker next week and nabbing a whole slew of acting award nominations, including a Golden Globe, for his role in the critically acclaimed drama Marriage Story. Still, though Marriage Story has been declared the best Netflix film of 2019 by some, arguably Driver's biggest movie of the year will be The Rise of Skywalker, which concludes not only the sequel trilogy but the Skywalker Saga as a whole. However, in one instance on the Rise of Skywalker press tour, Driver had a funny flub.
Shared by @villainkylo in a tweet of an interview for The Rise of Skywalker, Driver forgets the name of The Last Jedi and refers to it as "the second one" in the sequel trilogy. Fortunately for Driver, this is not the first time (and certainly won't be the last) an actor has either totally forgotten the name of a movie they starred in or flubbed up on the movie title itself. Let us all take a second to remember the time actress Gwyneth Paltrow didn't even remember she made an appearance as Pepper Potts in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming. It was only when she was reminded by Jon Favreau those memories sprung into action. Take a look at Driver's Last Jedi flub below.
It's certainly understandable for Driver to stumble here, either in a human mistake or because he'd done a number of interviews with press at that point and was tired. Especially in terms of a film within the Star Wars universe, there's plenty of press and interviews to be done to promote a blockbuster, not only in the United States, but around the world. Anyone is bound to mess up their words at some point. Plus, there are a number of titles for all the Star Wars films, reboots, off-shoots and televisions series released by Lucasfilm over the years. We all have our moments and this one just happened to be caught on film during an interview - it's nothing to be embarrassed about.
While this is just one silly moment from the press tour, it's another reminder that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to hit theaters very soon. Once that happens, fans will get to see what becomes of Kylo Ren and the other characters from this latest Star Wars trilogy.
