Warning: SPOILERS for Absolute Carnage: Lethal Protectors #3
The villain Carnage has been very busy taking over Manhattan -- and Marvel fans just found out there is nothing our heroes can do about it. John Jonah Jameson, son of J. Jonah Jameson, AKA Man-Wolf, is one of his most recent conquests. Carnage's symbiotes work as a hive mind, meaning he can control them, but that also means the hosts share his memories. After breaking free of the trance in Absolute Carnage: Lethal Protectors #3, thanks in large part to Misty Knight, John is able to sort through his memories and Carnage's plans. Unfortunately, the only conclusion he come to, is that Carnage is going to win.
For those that don't know, Carnage was resurrected by a cult and hunting down everyone who ever bonded with a symbiote, collecting trace remnants of what was left behind in the process. Dark Carnage creates an army of Carnage dopplegangers who rampage the city, devouring or infecting anyone and anything that steps in their path (Captain Marvel's cat even fell victim). But why is he doing this? He wants to free Knull, the ancient malevolent deity who is worshiped by the cult that resurrected him.
To say that bringing Knull back would be a bad thing, is an understatement. His ultimate plan has always been to slay other cosmic gods, and rule the entire universe himself. Knull creates and controls symbiote armies that do his bidding, and is insanely powerful. He has super strength and is basically invulnerable. If Carnage and the cult succeed in bringing him back, things won't just be bad for Marvel's heroes, things will be bad for everyone.
When John Jonah Jameson reveals the bad news to his team, they don't back down and give up. In true hero fashion, they decide to continue the fight. Even if it means dying. Lucky for them, they have a super-charged Eddie Brock on their side. Will Marvel's heroes find a way to stop Carnage, against all the odds? Or will they die trying to do so? And if Knull is released, what does that mean for the safety of the universe? Find out when the story continues in Absolute Carnage #5, on shelves November 20th!
