Paramount Pictures takes movie screening to a whole new level with a Mission: Impossible - Fallout watch party on top of a huge cliff. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the sixth installment is his second contribution to the long-running spy franchise after helming 2015's Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, as Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt for a brand new adventure. Aside from Ethan's IMF usual team, the film also introduced Henry Cavill's CIA agent, Augustus Walker, Angela Bassett's CIA's new director Erica Sloane, and Vanessa Kirby as black market arms dealer known as White Widow.
Widely praised by critics, Fallout saw Ethan hunting down fundamentalist John Lark, a member of the Apostles, which is basically a rebranded team consisting of remaining members of The Syndicate. The new mission also forced Ethan to reunite with Solomon Lane two years after he captured him. Thanks to good word-of-mouth, not to mention the much-talked-about action sequences in the film highlighted in its trailers, the film posted the franchise's biggest opening weekend.

Cruise took to his official Twitter account to share an image from the unique screening. The aerial shot offers fans a good overall look at the event that was attended by more than 2,000 people who had to all hike for four hours before getting to their destination. The actor wasn't present at the gathering, although he said in the caption that he would've wanted to be there, and considering his penchant for all things extreme, that's not in any case doubtful. Other images from attendees, on the other hand, showed what it looked like from the ground. Check out the photo below:
Those who have already seen Fallout may find the venue for the event familiar as it's likely also where the film's final action set piece was filmed. Racing against time, Ethan battled Walker out to get a hold of the detonator while Luther, Ilsa, and Benji took care of the nuclear bombs. Shot in Norway’s iconic Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock, which is a popular tourist destination in the Scandinavian country, Paramount decided to honor the location by hosting a screening for the film there.
Aside from being a very cool idea, the innovative publicity event may just also be the key for Mission: Impossible - Fallout to beat Disney's Christopher Robin in what might be a tight race at the domestic box office this weekend. Both films are predicted to earn approximately $31.5 million, but the Ewan McGregor-starrer may pocket a bit more than Cruise's latest action film considering the cross-generational appeal of the former. Last week in the U.K., the musical-comedy Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again took the first spot on its second week earning £7.1 million, relegating the spy-thriller to just second place with a £5.4 million haul on its opening weekend there.
