Watch: Rey & Kylo Ren Fight Palpatine In Rise of Skywalker HD Video

Fans can now watch Rey and Kylo Ren's fight against Palpatine's forces from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker online in HD. The latest Star Wars adventure released in December, concluding the saga that began in A New Hope. Although labeled by many a box office disappointment, The Rise of Skywalker still grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

The Rise of Skywalker was one of the most talked-about films of 2019, though often not positively. The film has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes critic score for a main Star Wars feature, falling under The Phantom Menace. There are a number of factors one can analyze for the reason behind this negative reception. For one, many feel the film is disjointed from its predecessor, The Last Jedi. That movie, though perhaps even more polarizing, took chances with its storyline. It stated Rey's parents were nobodies. The Rise of Skywalker backtracks on this idea. Overall, the film lacked originality, according to many critics. Still, even those who dislike the film probably enjoyed some moments. One of these is likely in the climax.

Rey and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo's fight against Palpatine's forces is now viewable online (via KinoCheck International), in bright high definition. In this key sequence, Palpatine tries to get Rey to perform the ritual. Instead, Rey sends her lightsaber to Ben. Here, Ben battles the Knights of Ren, the elite force he once commanded. Meanwhile, Rey battles unnamed Sith. Check out the clip below.

The clip ends with Rey and Ben taking a stand against Palpatine together. In the final showdown, it comes down to Rey as she is granted the power of the Jedi who preceded her. She manages to kill the Emperor, but also dies in the process. Ben, still alive, uses his energy to revive Rey. Before he dies, Rey and Ben share a kiss (that apparently wasn't romantic according to the novelization), which is the final scene they have together.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is hitting home media later this month, so fans will be able to relive the film entirely in HD then. As for the next movie, it's not known what will happen. Disney still has three Stars Wars films on its release schedule, the closest one being in 2022. The company is certainly aware of the feedback from the latest film, so it will be interesting to see what the future holds.
