Seinfeld: 10 Hilarious Reasons Why Jerry Broke Up With His Girlfriends

Seinfeld is a sitcom that you can put on at any time of day and still manage to never get tired of watching. If you're a fan of the show, you would know that Geroge (Jason Alexander), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Kramer (Michael Richards) and Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) don't have the best luck when it comes to relationships.

Over the course of nine seasons, fans have seen many girlfriends and dates walk out Jerry's door. Some are small occurrences and don't take up much air time. On the other hand, there are some of Jerry's girlfriends that stick with you due to the hilarious and bizarre reason on why Jerry and they broke up

10 The Dry Cleaner Discount ("The Wife" Season 5, Episode 17)

There are only two times that Jerry comes close to getting married and one of them isn't considered a legal marriage. While dating his girlfriend Meryl (Courtney Cox), they pretend to be a married couple to get a 25% discount at the dry cleaners. It seems to be working until Uncle Leo catches them and tells his parents. Jerry and Meryl have to keep up the charade.

Despite pretending to get the discount, they start to act as a married couple even when they're alone. They both start to bicker and get annoyed at each others habits as if they've been married for years. Jerry meets someone else and "cheats." Meryl finds out by finding a nightgown at the dry cleaner's that isn't hers. They have a fight and break up because Jerry wants the other women to get the discount by pretending to be his wife.

9 The Mad Liber ("The Frogger" Season 9, Episode 18)

Jerry starts to date elaine's friend, Lisi (Julia Campbell). He describes her as dating "Mad Libs" because she finishes all his sentences. He soon becomes frustrated by her annoying quality.  He decides that he needs to end their relationship, but ends up failing as he takes her back to her place to avoid the Lopper, a serial killer in the area. Lisi finishes his sentence thinking they need to take their relationship to the next level.

Jerry is afraid that Lisi misinterpreted him and wants to break up before things get serious. He ends up trying to break up for ten hours to avoid running into the Looper.

8 No Free Massage ("The Masseuse" Season 5, Episode 9)

Jerry thinks he found the best girlfriend he could because she also happens to be a masseuse. The only issue is that Jody (Jennifer Coolidge) refuses Jerry's advances and clues to give him a massage. Jerry becomes frustrated as Jody has no issue giving a massage to Kramer but not him.

One night, she arrives at Jerry's apartment with her massage table having come straight from work. Jerry sees it as an opportunity and tries to forcefully have Jody give him a massage. Jody gets angry and tells Jerry she massages who she wants when she wants. Jerry and Jody break up because Jerry won't get his free massage.

7 The Dockers Commercial ("The Phone Message" Season 2, Episode 4)

Believe it or not, Jerry's storyline for "The Phone Message" comes from Seinfeld's real personal dislike for the Docker's commercial. Jerry starts dating a woman named Donna (Gretchen German). One night, as they sit on his couch, they start to discuss a commercial for Docker's pants. Jerry explains his extreme dislike for the commercial. Things turn bad as Donna says she really likes the commercial. Jerry's feelings for her come to an immediate halt.

They then have a heated argument over the semantics and the commercial's ineffectiveness. Later on, George spills the beans to Donna that Jerry told him about her liking the commercial. Donna becomes upset that Jerry told George. Jerry thinks she's blowing things out of proportion and end the relationship.

6 All For Soup ("The Soup Nazi" Season 7, Episode 6)

The episode "The Soup Nazi" is one of the most popular epsidoes from the show. The reason Jerry breaks up with his girlfriend int he episode is also hilariously tied to the Soup Nazi (Larry Thomas). A new soup stand opens up that has Jerry describes the soup as incredible. The problem is the owner, Yev Kassem aka the "Soup Nazi" runs a tight ship and will deny anyone soup if they don't comply with his rules.

Jerry starts to date Sheila (Alexandra Wentworth) and they develop the annoying habit of calling each other "schmoopy" and excessive PDA. While in line at the soup stand, Sheila won't stop kissing Jerry when it's their turn. The "Soup Nazi" becomes enraged and kicks Jerry and Sheila out. Sheils sees that Jerry is not following her. Jerry would rather get soup than follow Sheila and they break up for a while.

5 Brain Vs. Down Below ("The Nose Job" Season 3, Episode 9)

In this episode, Jerry thinks he has found the ultimate woman to have a relationship with until she asks him for help with her acting dialogue. He starts dating an actress named Isabel (Tawny Kitaen), who Jerry is very sexually attracted to. He soon starts to realize she is quite rude and irritating.

Jerry has an imaginary chess game between his brain and his nether region. He has a battle with himself to decide whether to stay in the relationship for sex or to end it to save his sanity. He asks Kramer for help in ripping up her number but ends up calling her anyway.  When Isabel asks Jerry for help reading lines, Jerry finds out she is also a horrible actress and breaks up with her.

4 Straight From A Movie ("The Letter" Season 3, Episode 21)

While Jerry is dating artist Nina (Catherine Keener), she gifts Geroge tickets to a Yankee game. Elaine causes a disruption at the game because she doesn't want to take her hat off that represents another team. At the same time, Jerry and Nina have a fight and break up. They later reconcile and Jerry then receives a poetic letter written by Nina.

Jerry recognizes the words from somewhere but can't put his finger on it. While watching the Neil Simon film Chapter Two, Jerry realizes that Nina plagiarized her letter word for word from the film. Jerry confronts Nina and reinstates their original break up for good.

3 False Pickings ("The Pick" Season 4, Episode 13)

Picking your nose has always been a topic of debate on its level of disgust in public. It becomes the main reason why Jerry breaks up with his model girlfriend Tia Van Camp (Jennifer Campbell). Tia witnesses Jerry picking his nose, when in reality he was scratching it. The angle suggested otherwise and Tia dodges his calls.

Jerry visits her at the Clavin Klein office to confront her. She refuses to believe him and Jerry has had enough. He gives her a long speech about how nose pickers shouldn't be shamed. Tia is shocked and revolted and they ultimately break up.

2 Man-Hands ( "The Bizarro Jerry" Season 8, Episode 3)

This episode of Seinfeld will have you laugh on why Jerry isn't fond of his current fling. He starts dating Gillian (Kristin Bauer), who is gorgeous in every way except for one thing. She has "man-hands." Jerry tries to get past it, but can only see her mannish hands opening his beer or trying to wipe his face.

Jerry decides to break up with Gillian and gives her the line of better being off as friends. While trying to steal a photo of her from her bag for George, her man-hands appear and grab Jerry's wrist forcefully.

1 The Toothbrush ("The Pothole" Season 8, Episode 6)

Jerry could have had a good thing with his girlfriend Jenna (Kristin Davis) in the episode "The Pothole" if a certain incident didn't occur. Jerry is a bit of a germaphobe and likes his cleanliness. When Jenna sleeps over, Jerry accidentally knocks her toothbrush into the toilet. Before he can tell her, she is already using it.

Jerry can't bring himself to tell her and uses any excuse to not kiss her. Jenna finds out and they break up. They then reconcile until a sewage pipe break causes dirty water to shoot out of Jenna's toilet wetting her entirely. Jerry is disgusted and ends the relationship.
