Harley Quinn: 10 Burning Questions That Need To Be Answered In Season 2

Let's be honest - there's never enough great superhero TV shows, whether animated ones or live-action ones. So when the new show Harley Quinn came last year, it presented a pleasant surprise.

Harley has been around since the early 1990s, but only recently she finally started getting the love and attention she truly deserves. The viewers have enjoyed Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley in the Suicide Squad (2016), and, of course, Birds of Prey, but the animated version of Harley is just as great, if not better. The first season offered plenty of amazing moments, and there are some burning questions about what might happen next.

10 What Happened To Batman?

It might come as a surprise to some, the dark knight himself included, but Batman and Harley Quinn actually make a good team, wherever they manage to overcome their differences and work together.

Sure, Harley is slightly unhinged (to put it mildly), and Batman has no time or tolerance for her quirky behavior, but their different set of skills make them good partners in crime. So when Batman got captured by the Joker at the end of the first season, Harley didn't join her ex in torturing the superhero, and he, in return, saved Harley and Poison Ivy. It's unclear, though, what happened to Batman, but you can wager he's probably okay. Why? Because he's Batman!

9 Will Harley And Batman Date?

As the first season of Harley Quinn proved over and over again, when it comes to Harley, everything is possible. It's well-known that Harley likes both men and women, and besides the Joker and Poison Ivy, one of her biggest crushes to this date is none other than Batman... and Bruce Wayne as well!

Fans have been dreaming about Batman/Bruce and Harley becoming a couple for a while, and this show might just be the one which will bring the relationship to life. Sure, these two might not look like a match in heaven, but they did kiss before, in the animated Batman series, and neither of them protested against the smooch, so...

8 Will There Be A Time Skip?

Harley always dreamed about ruling Gotham... and now it finally seems like she might just get her what she wished for. Sure, Gotham has been mostly destroyed, buildings have fallen and the city's on fire, but nobody's perfect, right? Plus, Harley is the type of girl who can definitely appreciate good old destruction, as she already demonstrated in the last moment of the first season when she admired the burning city.

However, that begs the question of what will happen next. Will the second season begin mere moments after the end of the first season or will there be a time skip and the next time the viewers will see Harley, she's already been ruling Gotham for months?

7 Will The Justice League Return?

Batman isn't the only superhero who appeared in the first season of Harley Quinn, not by a long shot. Harley and her crew of merry misfits also met the Justice League, more specifically Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Green Lantern.

Unfortunately for the League, when they faced their old enemy Queen of Fables, the villainess used her powers and trapped the League in her fairytale book. Harley later killed Queen of Fables when her former friend turned against her, so now it remains unclear how will the League get out of the enchanted book and back to their lives.

6 Will New Heroes And Villains Appear?

Let's stay with the Justice League for a moment longer. One way they could get out of the enchanted fairytale book would be by using the help of another magically gifted person. And DC has a lot of those to work with, most notably probably John Constantine, whose meeting with Harley would certainly be interesting to watch, considering they're in some ways similar.

Matt Ryan who plays Constantine in the Arrowverse already voiced his hero in an animated series as well, so it wouldn't be such a stretch to imagine he could also come to Harley Quinn and voice this show's version of John Constantine. And if Constantine is unavailable, Zatanna could always pop into the show.

5 What Happened To The Legion Of Doom?

One of the big plot points of the first season concerned Harley's effort to get respected enough by the Legion of Doom so that the Legion would invite her to become a member, just like the Joker was. If you watched the series, you already know that Harley eventually succeeded and became a member of the Legion. However, Joker destroyed their Hall of Doom when he built the tower with his face on it, and claimed that the Legion was no more.

It remains to be seen whether that's true or not, but it's doubtful that all of the Legion of Doom villains would just disappear, so you can probably bet on seeing some of them again in the second season.

4 Where's The Joker?

Throughout the first season, Harley oscillated between loving her boyfriend and hating his guts. In the end, she chose to move on from him for once and for all and is now one hundred percent single. She and the Joker had their final showdown when Harley came into his tower to avenge Poison Ivy's death, and to rescue her team whom Joker had captured.

They fought and Joker ended up buried beneath the rubble of his tower when it collapsed thanks to the earthquake resurrected Poison Ivy had caused. It seems that he's not dead yet, though, so he might easily come back and try to take Gotham from Harley again.

3 Will Poison Ivy Get Married?

When Poison Ivy starts dating Kite Man, a C-list supervillain at best, she does her best to keep it a secret from her friends and the rest of the world. Only once Kite Man confronts her about her behavior, does Poison Ivy show remorse and proclaim herself to be Kite Man's girlfriend. The truth about their relationship later comes out when Poison Ivy asks Kite Man to save them from a hungry giant.

He then asks her to marry him, and Ivy doesn't outright reject the proposal but also doesn't say yes, making Kite Man believe she might indeed agree to marry him later on. If that's the case, the viewers could get to watch their wedding in the second season.

2 Will Poison Ivy And Harley Date?

Another possibility, when it comes to Poison Ivy's romantic life, is that she will refuse Kite Man's proposal, will break up with him and instead will get together with Harley, her best friend.

Harley and Ivy are very close, and it's been hinted multiple times in the show that Ivy sees Harley more than just a friend. Plus, the two women already date in the comics and are a much better match than Harley and the Joker. If they indeed started dating in the show, it'd be the first time their relationship would be portrayed in any TV show or film, except for a brief mention in the Birds of Prey.

1 What Will Harley And Her Team Do?

Harley and her team of villains went through a lot of adventures together in the first season. And even when they temporarily broke up, because they felt that Harley betrayed them by very briefly getting back together with the Joker, they still managed to overcome their differences in the end and found their way back together.

There's a lot of things this group could do in the second season, from ruling Gotham to making an uncertain alliance with Batman or another superhero in order to save the Justice League. The possibilities are almost endless, but one thing remains certain - whatever they'll do, it'll be worth the wait!
