Clueless returns to theaters for the cult classic film's 25th anniversary. Starring Alicia Silverstone, Clueless is a coming-of-age romantic comedy set in Beverly Hills, that became one of the most popular teen comedies of the 1990s. Released in 1995, Clueless had a considerable influence on fashion trends, jargon, and self-expression. Due to its success, Clueless spawned a spin-off television sitcom, comic books, a Broadway musical, and was in early development for a remake by Paramount Pictures.
Now, fans of Clueless have a chance to see the iconic film on the big screen for its 25th anniversary. Today, Fathom Events revealed they would show the movie on May 3, May 4, and May 6 at 700 movie theaters across North America. Coupled with Paramount Pictures, Fathom Events will also include a special pre-show presentation that will examine the film's titular jargon. Available now on the Fathom Events website, ticket prices range from $17-$25, depending on location.
Last year, CBS TV studios announced Clueless is getting the reboot treatment in the form of a contemporary mystery series. Resembling Mean Girls meets Riverdale; Clueless will center on Cher's best friend, Dionne. Penned by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey (Will & Grace), the Clueless reboot will tackle a unique 2020 L.A. storyline.
Helmed by Amy Heckerling, Clueless chronicles the adventures of Cher (Silverstone), a "Valley Girl" type idolized for her popularity and wealth among the social circles of Bronson Alcott High School. Flanked by her best friend Dionne (Stacey Dash), Cher sets her sights on new girl Tai (Brittney Murphy) in an attempt to give her an extreme makeover. Hilarity ensues when Tai garners more popularity than Cher, and affairs of the heart become complex when Cher begins to fall for her ex-stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd).
