In Altered Carbon season 2, Simone Missick plays a strong-willed, loyal bounty hunter named Trepp, but you may have seen her before on-screen in several different roles. As Trepp in Altered Carbon she is a tough, professional bounty hunter who values her family's safety more than anything. On several occasions she saves protagonist Takeshi Kovacs and his other allies, and she proved to be truly reliable backup.
Missick's Trepp is one of the best new characters in Altered Carbon season 2 due to her competence and strength. Unlike Detective Ortega in Altered Carbon season 1, who became somewhat of a damsel in distress, Trepp remains a valuable and key member of the team up to the season finale. Trepp also could not be further from a love interest for Takeshi Kovacs, which was refreshing for a female character in the show.
Missick's aptitude for playing tough talkers and fighters is also seen elsewhere in her filmography. She appeared in guest roles in shows like Tell Me A Story and Wayward Pines, but here's where you're most likely to have seen Missick on screen before.
Simone Missick is best known for her portrayal of Misty Knight in several Marvel shows on Netflix. She makes her first appearance in the universe in Luke Cage as an NYPD detective with a very intense moral code and strong belief in justice. Misty later becomes allies with more of Marvel's Netflix characters and is a main character in both The Defenders and Iron Fist season 2, where she teams up with Colleen Wing. Knight fights fiercely alongside her superhero allies and even loses an arm in The Defenders, which is later replaced with a powerful cyborg arm.
The CBS legal drama All Rise premiered in September 2019. Missick plays a Lola Carmichael, a former prosecutor, newly elected judge, and the show's main character. The show has received average to good reviews, with critics complimenting Missick's performance. All Rise is Missick's first starring role and she is making the most of it. With her consistently impressive performances for The Defenders and Altered Carbon, more opportunities will certainly follow.
Simone Missick has made a name for herself playing no-nonsense characters on Netflix shows, and Trepp has one of the more complex character arcs in the second season of Altered Carbon. It remains to be seen if she will return for Altered Carbon season 3, but fans would surely be happy to have her back.
