Amazing Stories Trailer Gives First Look At Steven Spielberg Reboot

Apple TV+ has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming anthology series Amazing Stories. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the series will tell five unique tales, all fantastical in nature. Spielberg created the original Amazing Stories, which ran for two seasons from 1985 to 1987. Apple previously announced the first five episodes will premiere on the streamer on March 6, with remaining episodes arriving in the weeks following.

Bryan Fuller was initially tapped to act as showrunner, but later stepped down. Instead, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (Once Upon a Time) are filling in as showrunners. Amazing Stories' large cast includes Dylan O'Brien, Victoria Pedretti, Josh Holloway, Sasha Alexander, Edward Burns, Kerry Biché, and Austin Stowell. The series also features one of the final performances of the late Robert Forster, who can be seen in the trailer. Series directors include Chris Long, Mark Mylod, Michael Dinner, Susanna Fogel, and Sylvain White.

John Williams' original theme can be heard in Amazing Stories' trailer, which was released by Apple TV on Monday. While it's light on concrete plot details, the trailer does showcase the series' supernatural elements as well as its various cast members. You can watch it in the space below:

Apple TV+ debuted last November with a rather small slate that included Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon's The Morning Show and the Jason Momoa-fronted See. In the months following, Apple has released more projects, including the thriller Servant. So far, all of Apple's original series have been renewed for second seasons, with the exception of some children's shows. Other upcoming projects include Home Before Dark and Defending Jacob, which stars Chris Evans.

Apple TV+ has been working to establish itself as a streaming service worth subscribing to after a rocky start. Apple's strength lies in the big names it has managed to attract for its projects, like Spielberg for Amazing Stories. Those familiar with the original series might be enticed to give the reboot a shot, and having Spielberg on board once again will surely be seen as a positive. Amazing Stories has the opportunity to tell some truly thrilling stories, and as long as it delivers on its title's promise, it could prove to be a success for Apple. Whether Amazing Stories will be able to bring in a slew of new subscribers is unclear, but it might be able to keep people interested in Apple TV+. Only time will tell how amazing Amazing Stories will be.
