Peter Weber recently discussed his emotionally "raw" season of The Bachelor, offering few hints as to what we are in for in the show's 24th season. While we know Weber will be injured at some point along the way, it's still a mystery which woman, if any, he will choose in the end.
Last summer, the decision of who would become The Bachelor was, at the very least, a three-horse race. Weber stayed at the front of the pack by, well, not doing a whole lot. Tyler Cameron dated supermodels and Mike Johnson went looking for love on Bachelor in Paradise. Weber stayed out of the spotlight. That tactic worked, and on Monday, we will all get to see if it pays off for him. The 28-year-old pilot finished third on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, behind Cameron and disgraced musician Jed Wyatt. He endeared himself to fans after a certain well-publicized meeting in a windmill. Mainly, though, he put himself in contention to earn the role of The Bachelor - albeit somewhat controversially - by staying away from the drama that engulfed the latter portion of Brown's season.
In an interview with USA Today, Weber admitted that the end of his journey was different but not unusual, saying, "It’s definitely a unique ending just like every story has, but all in all, in one word, it was raw and I’m proud of that." If he's telling the truth, that is something to be excited about, considering how Brown shined as the lead for bringing that same raw emotion to the table. Speaking of Brown, Weber revealed that Brown's return on his season brought back some old feelings. He said, "When I see her that first night I kind of realize that maybe not everything’s done yet." He didn't say where their relationship is now.

As for the mention of the windmills, Weber is resigned to the fact that he won't live that moment down. He told USA Today, "That’s my story. That’s forever gonna be part of it. I just kind of embrace it at this point." Weber previewed that plenty of windmill references will be coming in the premiere.
The first episode will surely be filled with crazy entrance costumes, inappropriate pilot jokes and that one contestant who has a little too much to drink. As Weber whittles his cast down to a handful, that's when, he says, it starts to get difficult. For fans, however, the more turbulence that Pilot Pete experiences, the more entertaining the show.
The Bachelor premieres Monday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
