The Bachelor: What to Expect in Season 24 | Screen Rant

To no one's surprise, ABC's The Bachelor is returning for its 24th season. Between that, its counterpart show The Bachelorette, as well as the spinoff show Bachelor In Paradise, the world can never go too long without seeing more nonsense that's (supposedly) based around true love. Now, there isn't much longer to wait until the upcoming season with Peter Weber.

The fact that The Bachelor is continuing isn't a surprise. Its format of one lead being surrounded by over 20 potential romantic interests and narrowing it down over time until a marriage proposal in the finale has worked as a form of entertainment consistently. In fact, it's become even more successful in recent years. This year, the big question on Bachelor Nation fans' minds was who would take on the role of season 24's newest Bachelor. Fans mostly narrowed the possibilities down to three men from the most recent season of The Bacheloretterunner up Tyler Cameron, third place contestant Peter Weber, and sixth place contestant Mike Johnson (who many hoped would become the first black bachelor). Ultimately, back in September, it was announced by host Chris Harrison that Weber would be the lead, once again not surprising many.

The season premiere of The Bachelor has been set to launch on January 6 on ABC. It should run until about halfway through March to keep with the schedule that ABC has had for the franchise for several years now. The Bachelor airs at the end of winter, then The Bachelorette follows around the beginning of summer. Bachelor In Paradise then handles the end of summer and start of fall.

As for the season's specific content, with "Pilot Pete" in the lead, there will surely be plane jokes aplenty, pilot puns, and dates somehow themed around flying. Around 30 women are to be in the mix, with a fair amount of the cast having been revealed already, and recent trailers have teased the bachelorette of Peter's original season, Hannah Brown, possibly returning to be one of these women. Odds are high that this is merely a hook, though. A past bachelor or bachelorette appearing in a future season to talk to the new lead, give them advice, or host a date for the cast is nothing new (Andi Dorfman recently appeared on Nick Viall's season). Of course it should also be said that, with this season season of The Bachelor, expect the usual over-the-top dramatics, countless cliffhangers, the words "for the right reasons" used repeatedly, and, of course, windmill jokes. Lots of windmill jokes.
