Supernatural: 10 Most Shameless Things Castiel Ever Did

There's no doubt that Castiel is a fan-favorite in Supernatural. At this point, the fallen angel is an honorary Winchester, the topic of much shipping and fan-fic, and has gone from villain to hero and back again a dozen times. He's often been the comedy in the show - even if only because he's so very, very blunt. His time figuring out how life on Earth worked was brilliant, and now, he's one of the most human characters that fans meet.

However, much as we love him, there's no denying that he's had some pretty shameless moments in there, too. From taking on God powers to betraying the Winchesters, imitating porn, casual murder, and more, Castiel has raised our eyebrows as much as our spirits.

10 Smote All Who Opposed Him

For most of the show, Castiel is driven by a desire to help - the humans, the Winchester, the angels, the world. However, he takes this just a little too far at one point, swallowing enough souls to essentially become God. Of course, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and this is a perfect example. During his time as God-Cas, Castiel went on a rampage, and had no issues smiting essentially anyone who opposed him. So much for reasoned conversation and due process...

9 Bribed Dean With Porn And Pie

In the season 8 episode 'Clip Show', Castiel is trying to get back in Dean's good books - after losing his trust for not thinking Sam and Dean could handle the Angel Tablet. In an attempt to smooth things over, Castiel decides to make him a very Dean-specific gift basket, including beef jerky, beer, porn, and (of course) pie. Which is shameless enough, because he's essentially trying to bribe Dean into trusting him again, but in the course of trying to buy everything, he essentially threatens a random gas station attendant - we're sure Dean would be thrilled.

8 Made Out With Meg

An Angel and a Demon are hardly two characters that fans would expect to see getting it on, but Castiel has a surprisingly sexy streak... in Season 6, during an epic battle where Meg and Castiel are on the same side, the demonic damsel kisses Castiel.

It's intended as a way to distract him so she can grab his weapon, but he shocks everyone by grabbing her, pushing her against a wall, and kissing her again. Utterly shameless - especially because he admits he learned the move from the 'pizza guy' (in porn).

7 Killed Another Angel For His Grace

Yup, Castiel has no problem making out with demons, or murdering angels when it suits him. In season 9, Castiel was out of Grace - and decided to remedy this in the simplest (and most shameless) way possible. He tricked another fallen angel, Theo, into taking off his cuffs... and then slit his throat with an angel blade, drank his grace, and then killed the human leftover. Wow, Castiel. Surely there was another way to restore that with a little less brutality?

6 Organized Orgies During The Apocalypse

Admittedly, this is a future version of Castiel, and not the primary one, but it just couldn't be left off his shameless list. In season 5's 'The End', Dean gets dropped into a future version of the world, one where zombies run rampant. Here, he meets his future self, but also meets future-Cas... who is high as a kite, has largely given up, and is organizing orgies. Because why not? Shame. Shame would be why not, but as we've established, Castiel (present or future) doesn't always have a lot of that.

5 Blackmailed Dean By Torturing Sam

For most of the series, Castiel has been on the Winchester's side - so much so that he is considered an honorary Winchester by most. However, he's had his moments where they were definitely at odds. In season 6, Castiel is actually working with Crowley (him and his demon-pals...), trying to find a way into Purgatory while Sam and Dean try and stop them.

Getting frustrated with their interference, Castiel actually removed the 'wall' in Sam's head, keeping him sane and his memories of Hell at bay. He tells Dean that he'll save Sam... if they leave him alone. He's a fan of blackmail, clearly, but this is taking things way too far.

4 Blackmailed His Vessel By Possessing His Daughter

Unlike demons, angels have to get the permission of their vessels before they can take over - and Castiel (who has a clear preference for using Jimmy Novak as a vessel) has a particularly interesting way of making sure he gets the one he wants. In season 4, after Castiel leaves Jimmy, it's obvious that his ex-vessel is just desperate to go home. However, after a fight with some demons, Castiel then possesses Claire, Jimmy's daughter. Not wanting to see his daughter harmed, Jimmy agrees that he'll be Castiel's vessel again, if only Castiel leaves his daughter alone.

3 Betrayed The Winchesters

As previously mentioned, Castiel did (at one point) decide to betray the Winchesters to work with Crowley. However, he didn't just betray them, he lied to them, manipulated them... and then later, rubbed it in their faces! After Dean tells Cas that he's a bad liar, Castiel calmly replies that he can't be that bad, after all, he lied to them and betrayed them successfully. Even for Cas, that is cold!

2 Ignored Sam After A Spat With Dean

It's no secret that Castiel has a closer relationship with Dean than with Sam, but still... his behavior in the final season has been pretty darn shameless. After Dean tells Cas that he will never forgive him for what Jack did to Mary, Cas runs away. He holes up, works a case, and generally just sulks. And while him not talking to Dean is understandable (Dean's reaction is, in reality, a bit extreme), Castiel also casually ignores Sam - even though Sam isn't the one who he fell out with! It's a totally callous way to treat Sam, especially after all these years.

1 Saved The Titanic Victims To Boost His Own Ego

Admittedly, this was back when Castiel was fighting a war in Heaven, was basically God, and was trying to win that war by saving the souls, but in his heart of hearts... Castiel also wanted to do this just to prove that he could. This happened in season 6, when Castiel ordered Balthazar to change history in order to help his war effort. Wildly selfish, and even though it may seem like a net positive at first, Castiel's shameless tinkering in time angers the Fates, alters the timeline, and ends up with him having to go back in time and kill everyone on the ship after all.
