Marvel's Moon Knight TV Show May Include Dracula & Werewolf by Night

Rumor has it that the upcoming Moon Knight series may feature two major supernatural forces of the Marvel universe: Werewolf By Night and Dracula.Writer Daniel Richtman teased the arrival of the characters in the Disney Plus exclusive earlier today.

Werewolf By Night, aka Jack Russell or Jacob Russoff, inherited the curse of a lycanthrope from his father and has since used that power for good. In fact, Moon Knight himself made his first appearance in Werewolf By Night’s comic series, when an evil organization named the Committee hired him to battle the bestial anti-hero. As for Dracula, he’s exactly as he sounds: the feared vampire lord of myth and literature who’s desire to rule the world has put him at odds with the heroes of the supernatural side of the Marvel universe. Fans may remember Dominic Purcell’s take as the dark one in 2004’s less-than-stellar Blade Trinity, where he squared off against Wesley Snipes’ titular vampire hunter.

As reported by CBR, Daniel Richtman hinted at the inclusion of these two icons of the night on his Patreon account Tuesday morning. No other details were given, nor has Ritchman’s information been confirmed by any official sources for the time being. However, it does back up a previous rumor of Werewolf By Night appearing on the show.

Set for a tentative release sometime next year, Moon Knight will tell the story of Marc Spector, a former Marine-turned-mercenary who is revived by the ancient Egyptian Moon God Khonshu to serve as his avatar on Earth. Or at least that’s what he believes, as Spector also suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, and it’s been hinted at that Khonshu is just another one of his split personalities. There’s no word on who is set to star yet, but rumor has that Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame is being looked at for the lead role.

The inclusion of Werewolf By Night and Dracula is still just a rumor for now, but it makes sense for Marvel Studios to phase in the existence of supernatural creatures ahead of the planned Blade reboot in Phase 5. 2016’s Doctor Strange introduced magic into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Gabriel Luna's Ghost Rider made his debut in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. around the same time, but before that most supernatural elements were altered to be the work of alien technology or genetic experimentation, like the gods of Asgard or Wanda Maximoff’s hypnotic powers. If this rumor is true though, that could change when Moon Knight hits Disney Plus sometime next year.
