Justice League Snyder Cut Runtime Is 214 Minutes - That’s 3.5 Hours

Details from the Justice League Snyder Cut keep rolling in, this time regarding the film's total runtime. The famed "Snyder Cut" has been a part of the internet discourse for DC fans since the release of Justice League in 2017. When fans didn't like what they saw on-screen, they took to social media to trend "ReleaseTheSnyderCut," referencing the director's original vision for the film. Snyder left Justice League before the film was complete, leading longtime superhero director Joss Whedon to step in and finish the film.

Recently, fans have been treated to an avalanche of information about the Justice League Snyder Cut, and the movement to release the footage has only gained momentum. Snyder himself has played a big role. Just last week, he reassured fans not to lose hope for a director's cut release of Justice League. Notably, he's also been joined by DC film stars, including Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck, though Justice League's Superman, Henry Cavill, isn't convinced Snyder's version of the film even exists. Additionally, Warner Bros. maintains they have no plans to share the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

The confirmation of the Snyder Cut's runtime comes from Snyder himself, who shared an image of the film's canisters on Vero. In the photo, a runtime of 214 minutes can clearly be seen, making Snyder's version of the film over three hours long. Snyder also used the photo to reassure fans that his cut of the film actually exists, answering the questions "Is it real?" and "Does it exist?" with "Of course it does." Fans excited about Snyder's version of the film have also been treated to a series of new images from the Justice League Snyder Cut. In them, Wonder Woman (Gadot), Batman (Affleck), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) can all be seen. Many have assumed that the Wonder Woman image in particular takes place in S.T.A.R. Labs, most likely during a scene that didn't make the final cut. An additional image shared by Snyder earlier shows Cyborg preparing to fight the villain Steppenwolf and protect his father, Silas Stone.

While the release of the Justice League Snyder Cut may never happen, it's still interesting to learn new details about it. This is especially the case for fans who have been championing that version of the film since before they were even positive it existed. Whedon's finished version of Justice League is exactly two hours, despite having almost 80 new script pages. The Snyder Cut's longer runtime points to extra scenes and details that were left out of the Justice League fans saw. Though it's probably difficult to know that a full hour and a half of extra footage exists, fans can take heart knowing that Snyder isn't forgetting about his cut of the film any time soon.
