This American Telenovela brought audiences drama, unexpected twists and enough romance to last a lifetime. Some couplings made our hearts glow, while others simply made us question the writer's thought processes when putting together these characters' love stories.
Whether these pairings were "fated," flawed or a quick fling, they all left audiences with strong feelings. Thankfully, most characters ended up with a suitable partner by viewers' standards. On that note, read on to see where your favorite (or least favorite) Jane the Virgin couple landed on this list.
10 Best: Alba & Jorge
Finding a great love for the second time was a wild ride for Alba and Jorge, but it was well worth it. Seeing Alba crush on Jorge while working together at the Marbella was one of the sweeter moments of the series.
After her husband passed and being alone for years, it was nice to see the matriarch of the family receive the love she deserves. Despite this, the couple faced many ups and downs from possible playing hard to get to deportation. No matter the situation this was a couple that all audiences routed for and in the end, Alba got her happy ending.
9 Make No Sense: Xiomara & Bruce
Being the other woman is never a promising start to a relationship. Xo started dating Bruce when he was married. During their first stint together, Bruce never follows through on leaving his wife for Xo. This forced Xiomara to break things off since she didn't want to be the other woman.
Eventually, Bruce came back into Xo's life and approached their relationship differently with care and compassion. Regardless of the personal changes he had made, it could never wipe his slate clean.
8 Best: Jane & Rafael
Even though accidental artificial insemination brought them together, they made the most of it.
Making their child a priority has always been Jane and Rafael's priority, but it was only a matter of time before feelings for one another started to blossom. This made things complicated, with Jane still in love with Michael, Raf's past, and the sheer fact that they are from different worlds. After years of mistakes, different relationships and overall growth this couple got their happily ever after in the series finale.
7 Make No Sense: Jane & Fabian Regalo Del Cielo
Miscommunication is the main ingredient in Jane and Fabian's relationship. When Jane meets Fabian she is purely looking for someone to hook up with, while he is looking for someone to be serious with. An overall recipe for disaster.
In time they have a passionate fling that burns bright and fast. Soon enough Jane uses him to get white horses for her parents' wedding and they dramatically part ways. In the end, these two had nothing in common and didn't want the same things so it was just a matter of time.
6 Best: Xiomara & Rogelio
Ahh, Xo and Ro a match made in heaven. These lovebirds met in high school, but their love didn't last very long once Xo got pregnant. Later on, they reconnect and throughout the first couple of seasons engage in an on-again-off-again relationship.
In the season 3 finale, Jane's parents tie the knot. Over the next few years they overcome obstacles together: Xo's breast cancer, parenting Ro's newborn and figuring out their dreams together. Their love stood the test of time and proved it was well worth the wait.
5 Make No Sense: Petra & Rafael
At the beginning of the series, we are introduced to Rafael and Petra who were married at the time. After being married for five years they had gone through a lot including Rafael's cancer treatment and both of their familial issues. Eventually, they fell out of love.
Petra decided to secretly have an affair, with none other than Raf's best friend Roman Zazo. She not only was cheating, but she was also waiting to get a divorce so that she could get her five-year payday. Over time their relationship broke down and they parted ways. Unfortunately, they briefly got back together later on but resulted in the same as their marriage.
4 Best: Petra & Jane "JR" Ramos
A love we didn't see coming that audiences now can't imagine the show without. Petra hired JR as her lawyer to defend her in the case regarding her twin sister's murder. Throughout the case, JR learns a lot about Petra, and Petra eventually realizes that she's attracted to her lawyer.
Soon enough the attraction grows and a relationship blooms. Through their time together Jane feels that she can't trust Petra due to her past of lying and scheming. As audiences think that their chapter has closed they rekindle their sweet romance at the close of the show, making for a great ending for the two.
3 Make No Sense: Petra & Miloš
Even though we didn't get to see a lot of Petra and Miloš' romantic relationship play out, their romance was simply random. During their time together he forgot her birthday on multiple occasions and acted as though he did not care, but once they break up he becomes this obsessive crazy ex.
Throughout his time in the series, he blackmailed Petra countless times, poured acid on her mother and forces her to marry him to get shares of her hotel. Their cat and mouse game can be exhausting, but thankfully by the end of the series he is out of the picture and Petra has moved on to a life without his antics.
2 Best: Jane & Michael
Throughout the series, there was no love that compared to what Jane and Michael had. Their love was realistic, filled with give-and-take. When they endured testing circumstances, how they handled it showed how much they cared for one another.
Even when they weren't together they always were there for one another. Michael always supported Jane's dreams and vice versa. They were a team and had a bond that no couple could even mimic. From meeting at Jane's 21st birthday party their lives changed for the better.
Their love wasn't perfect but it was real, and even though they didn't get the ending they deserved, viewers can still look back on the love that they had fondly.
1 Make No Sense: Luisa & Rose
Being a forbidden love, this relationship was doomed from the start . Rose also known as the crime lord "Sin Rostro," fell in love with her then husband's daughter and had an on and off affair with her. If that wasn't bad enough Rose continuously made Luisa's family miserable by kidnapping her nephew, killing her father and faking Jane's then husband's death, just to name a few.
When Luisa found out about Rose's impulsive crimes their relationship should have ended, but somehow their love concurred. Fortunately for everyone, in the end, Luisa came to her senses by putting herself and her family first. This resulted in the demise of Rose, but it allowed for viewers everywhere to finally sigh of relief.
