Star of The Bachelorette Dean Unglert isn't planning on proposing to girlfriend Caelynn Miller-Keyes anytime soon. Although the pair are one of the few surviving couples from the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise, they refuse to conform to the accelerated timeline of most Bachelor Nation couples. Instead, they're happy to take their relationship slow, meaning wedding bells aren't ringing in their future (yet).
Dean first appeared on Rachel Lindsay's season of The Bachelorette. Although he didn't win Lindsay's heart, he went on to the following season of Bachelor in Paradise as one of the most beloved contestants. However, he quickly ruined his reputation when he couldn't decide between dating Kristina Schulman or Danielle Lombard. Instead of choosing one woman, he strung both contestants along for the entirety of the season. He redeemed himself slightly on The Bachelor Winter Games, but his relationship with Lesley Murphy came to an end soon after the show aired. He most recently appeared on the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise, where he and Caelynn coupled up almost immediately. Still, Dean wasn't ready to commit. He left the show and broke up with Miller-Keyes on her birthday, only to return a few weeks later and ask her to leave the show with him. She agreed, and they've been dating ever since. Although their relationship started on rocky ground, they now seem like one of the most solid couples in Bachelor Nation.
In a recent interview with People at the KIIS Jingle Ball, Dean gave an update on his relationship. "We understand that with the Bachelor franchise, you kind of get put in a pressure cooker with your relationship," Dean said. "We’re just traveling together, exploring each other, and having fun and doing what we’re doing." He also made it clear that a wedding isn't in their immediate future, telling the interviewer that there are no "impending engagements" on the horizon. However, Dean also admitted that his girlfriend might see things a little differently. "She might tell you otherwise but it seems like, you know, we’re on a good path at the moment," the reality star continued. "There’s nothing really on the horizon but I think that’s kind of the best."
At the same time, Caelynn gave her own opinion on the relationship. Although she explained that she was comfortable taking things slow, she also seemed excited about the future of their relationship. "We’re at such a good place right now,” Caelynn said. “We’ll move in together when the time is right, but I don’t want to rush anything and I don’t want it to be contingent on a lease ending or something like that. But maybe. Maybe next year. Maybe in 2 years. Who knows.” Right now, both partners are most looking forward to their next few trips together, which include a jaunt to the Caribbean and a New Year's Eve celebration in Berlin, Germany.
While no one expected Dean and Caelynn to last very long after the show wrapped, they're now one of only two surviving couples from their Bachelor in Paradise season. However, they do appear to have a few sticking points in their relationship. Most notably, Dean takes a much more casual approach when discussing his girlfriend, while Caelynn has yet to echo his sentiments. Despite their differing public approach, they seem happy together. They're enjoying their time and not planning too far into the future, which is a refreshing change for a Bachelor Nation couple.
