In one of WWE's most nonsensical endings to date, the Hell in a Cell match between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt ended via a DQ, and fans aren't happy. Ever since debuting the darkly comic Firefly Funhouse segments earlier this year, it's safe to say that Wyatt has been one of the hottest acts in WWE, if not the hottest. Those segments of course led Wyatt to debut his new in-ring persona, dubbed The Fiend. Sporting a mask that would make Leatherface blush, The Fiend has spent the last month tormenting Universal Champion Seth Rollins.
The Fiend version of Wyatt has been nearly unstoppable, and many thought he might leave Hell in a Cell with the Universal Championship. Others figured Rollins might prevail, having just pinned both "The Beast" Brock Lesnar and "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman at recent pay-per-views. Sadly, it turned out neither man truly "won" the match, as their encounter inside the event's titular structure ended in truly dumbfounding fashion.
Since its creation in 1997, the Hell in a Cell has served as arguably the most sadistic match in WWE, with weapons often coming into play, and of course several people ending up tossed from atop the giant cage. Yet tonight at Hell in a Cell 2019, Rollins was simply disqualified, seemingly for kicking too much ass. After throwing out his whole arsenal of moves against Wyatt, The Fiend wouldn't stay down, leading Rollins to bash him in the head with Triple H's old pal the sledgehammer. Inexplicably, the ref called for the DQ, and awarded the match to Wyatt. The crowd immediately erupted with a huge chant of "bulls**t," which only got louder once The Fiend almost immediately popped back to life and attacked Rollins, and led to chants of "restart the match." Sadly, that didn't happen.
