UglyDolls Trailer & Poster: Kelly Clarkson is Pure Moxy

The Voice veterans Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton are among those lending their vocals to the eccentric residents of Uglyville in the first trailer and poster for STX's animated UglyDolls movie. A film adaptation of the popular Uglydoll toy line (which launched back in 2001), UglyDolls originally set up house at Despicable Me and Minions studio Illumination Entertainment. It later moved to STX and will serve as their first venture into the realm of big screen animation.

UglyDolls revolves around the residents of Uglyville, a town where the citizens eat a steady diet of cakes and cookies and generally celebrates themselves for who they are, regardless of the shape or size they come in. Eventually, however, the adventurous Moxy (Clarkson) sets out to explore the world beyond Uglyville with her friends, including Ox (Shelton) - Uglyville's unofficial mayor - and her sidekick Ugly Dog (Pitbull). Along the way, they stumble upon Perfection, a place where dolls are trained by their buff leader Lou (Nick Jonas) to become "perfect", in the hopes of being picked up by a child in the human world.

Rounding out the UglyDolls voice cast are names like Wanda Sykes, Gabriel Iglesias, Janelle Monáe, Emma Roberts, and Wang Leehom, with Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2, Smurfs: The Lost Village) directing. You can watch the UglyDolls trailer in the space below, followed by its newly-released poster.
