A new Avengers 4 casting call hints at a city-set battle. Reshoots for the still-untitled film are currently underway with Joe and Anthony Russo back behind the camera. Several MCU stars have been spotted in Atlanta, although leaked set photos have been very rare aside for the first batch that featured Captain America, Black Widow, and Ant-Man.
Not much is known regarding plot specifics for the film and considering where things were left off after Avengers: Infinity War, it's difficult to gauge where Marvel Studios is going with their Phase 3 capper. But between leaked set images and what is known about the plot of Avengers 4, many fans are convinced that time travel and the Quantum Realm will play a significant part in the narrative, although it's still unclear exactly how.

Extra Extra Casting of the South on Facebook put out a casting call for "Mary Lou," which is the working title for both Infinity War and Avengers 4. In their announcement, an upcoming filming session in Metro Atlanta for the film needs "an EMS worker or have EMS experience in the past." The shooting will be on Friday, October 12. Read the full casting call below:
Several times last year when the Russos were filming Infinity War and Avengers 4 back-to-back, leaked set photos hinting at the recreation of the Battle of New York emerged. Given the catastrophic nature of the MCU event, it's possible that the need for EMS extras are still part of that subplot considering that nothing of it was seen in Avengers 3. Otherwise, it's also possible that it's just for a brand new metropolitan battle in the Phase 3 capper. Set images of the reunion between Tony and Cap, who were alongside the Hulk and Ant-Man seemed to be set in the middle of a metropolitan battle. However, many are convinced that this is also part of the recreation of the Battle of New York given Cap's old school suit.
If this turns out to be a brand new action set piece in the middle of a city, it's a wonder if this means that Thanos will eventually make his way back to Earth following what looks like his peaceful retirement. The Avengers did a good job containing their battle against Thanos with most of their encounters mostly isolated, except Iron Man and his team's encounter with Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive in New York. That way, civilian casualties, and public property destructions were limited until the Mad Titan snapped his fingers at the end of the film
If it's not for any battle sequences, the EMS could be first responders called to attend to the injuries and accidents after the snap was enacted. During Infinity War's post-credit scene featuring Nick Fury and Maria Hill, people have started disappearing resulting in car crashes and even a helicopter crashing into a building. Showing more of the immediate consequences of the galactic genocide would establish the state of the world and would effectively elevate the stakes for Avengers 4.
